Admittedly, handling passwords isn’t our forte. Crafting them feels like a puzzle, and recalling them? Well, that’s another story. How many times have you found yourself resetting a password after a series of failed attempts? Juggling multiple passwords across various platforms is an uphill battle for many of us. But fear not! There’s a solution: password managers—the digital guardians designed to simplify and fortify our online security.

Today, we embark on a journey into the realm of top-tier password management tools, namely 1Password, Dashlane, and NordPass. These innovative solutions don’t just offer robust security measures but also wield user-friendly interfaces, elevating our password management game and safeguarding our digital presence. Come along as we uncover the prowess and distinctive features of these highly acclaimed password managers.

How Do Password Managers Work?

A password manager, available as an extension on your web or an app on your device, serves as a secure repository for your passwords, eliminating the need to remember multiple credentials. Once logged in with a master password, it generates and stores passwords for various online accounts. Many managers offer automatic password entry for websites and applications, simplifying the login process.

Example:

These tools come in various forms, including free versions with limitations, prompting users to consider their specific needs and review security factors outlined by organizations. Web-based password managers store passwords on the provider’s cloud server, offering universal accessibility without dedicated software. Accessing the password vault typically involves browser extensions or web applications provided by the manager.

Security is a prime focus, with reputable password managers employing zero-knowledge technology. This encrypts data on the user’s device before transmission, ensuring protection against unauthorized access. However, additional security measures, like two-factor authentication, are recommended to counter threats like keylogger malware. While free versions exist, premium features in online password managers usually require subscription payments, with affordable long-term plans. Using an online password manager involves storing passwords on the provider’s server, accessible round the clock with a master password, often through browser extensions or web applications.

Why use a password manager?

  • Better Protection for Your Accounts: Password managers create strong and unique passwords for each of your online accounts. Think of them as super guards for your accounts, making it tough for hackers to break in. This keeps your information safe and secure from cyber threats.
  • Saves You Time and Hassle: Remembering lots of passwords can be a headache. With a password manager, you only need to remember one master password. It’s like having a magic key that unlocks all your other passwords. Plus, it can automatically fill in your login details, so no more typing or forgetting passwords!
  • Works Everywhere You Go: These managers are like your loyal sidekick, following you wherever you go online. They sync your passwords across all your devices – phones, tablets, computers. So, no matter which device you’re using, your passwords are always with you!
  • Teaches Good Online Safety Habits: Using a password manager helps you become a safety pro online. It encourages creating strong passwords and reminds you about extra safety steps like using two-factor authentication. It’s like having a friendly mentor guiding you towards a safer online journey!
In a nutshell, a password manager acts as your personal guardian, making your accounts stronger, saving you time, protecting you from online tricks, working seamlessly across devices, and teaching you good online safety tricks along the way!

If you have Wi-Fi access at home, work, and school, and you don’t use much data when you’re on the go, consider switching to a limited data plan to save money.

H2O Wireless

1 GB Data | $8.33/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

If you’re largely on Wi-Fi, H2O Wireless’s 12-month plan could be an ideal choice. Opting for this plan requires a $100 upfront payment, which averages to $8.33 per month for 12 months of service. The package includes unlimited talk time, unlimited texting, 1 GB of high-speed data, and free use of your data for a mobile hotspot.

Wondering what you can do with 1GB of data? Well, it suffices for approximately one hour and 20 minutes of standard definition video, sending or receiving about 1000 emails, or exchanging over 1.5 million WhatsApp text messages.

If you exceed your monthly 1GB data limit, you will still have access to unlimited data, but at slower speeds. Additionally, you can always purchase high-speed data: 2 GB for $10 or 5 GB for $20.

TextNow Wireless

2 GB Data | $10.99/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

TextNow started as one of the many voice over internet protocol (VoIP) apps that allowed you to make calls and send texts to people for free over Wi-Fi. Now, it has evolved into an MVNO running on T-Mobile’s network – which means you can access to 5G network at a low cost with it.

If you’re looking for an economical phone plan for your backup phone, TextNow is worth considering. For a mere $10.99 a month, you can enjoy 2 GB of high-speed data. Upon reaching your data limit within your billing cycle, the company will reduce you to 2G speeds. So you can continue to surf the Internet, at a reduced pace.

As with the H2O Wireless plan, TextNow’s plan offers unlimited domestic calls and text. For those who need to make international calls, TextNow also offers competitive international calling rates

Tello Economy

1 GB Data | $10/month | Unlimited Talks & Text

or

5 GB Data | $19/month | Unlimited Talks & Text

If you don’t use much data, the Tello Economy plan might be an excellent choice. You can choose between the 1GB plan priced at $10 per month or the 5 GB plan available for $19 monthly.

All of Tello’s plans come with unlimited talk time and text, and you can enjoy free calls and texts to over 60 countries if you wish to call your family and friends abroad. Whichever plan you choose, Tello offers unlimited 2G data, meaning that once you reach your data cap, your speed will be limited instead of running out of data. Additionally, Tello data plans allocate the same amount of data for hotspot use.

With Tello Economy plans, you can go month to month and there is no contract bind. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan to adapt to your data needs at any time. Tello does not impose any additional fees on its plans, although you can expect to pay taxes based on your state and local jurisdiction, which can be viewed on your checkout page.

Hello Mobile

500 MB Data | $5/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

Hello Mobile also offers the most cost-effective unlimited talk and text plan, and it even includes the perk of international calls to a selection of countries.

This plan provides a modest 500 MB of 4G LTE/5G data. Beyond this data cap, you will be without data until the start of your next cycle, instead of simply being limited on speeds. It’s worth noting that hotspot data is not included in this plan.

Hello Mobile is currently running a “Buy 1 Get 1” promotion – when you sign up and pay for your first month of service, you get your second month of service at no cost.

Mint Mobile

5 GB | $15/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

Mint Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that runs on T-Mobile’s 5G network. All Mint plans come with unlimited talk and text, high-speed 5G or 4G LTE data, and free mobile hotspot capabilities. Calls to Mexico and Canada are included at no extra cost, and the rates for international calls to over 160 countries are highly affordable.

Similar to other services we mentioned earlier, Mint also provides unlimited low-speed data. So, even if you’ve reached your 5 GB data limit and have a few days left on your plan, you can still access data at reduced speeds. While this may not be sufficient for streaming movies, it should be adequate for checking emails.

Currently, Mint is offering a promotional deal where all plans are discounted to $15 for the initial three months. After this initial period, the renewal cost for each plan will differ. For instance, the 5 GB data plan stands at $15 per month for a 12-month cycle, with the 15 GB, 20 GB, and unlimited data plans priced at $20, $25, and $30 respectively. You can renew your plan on a 3, 6, or 12-month basis, with longer cycles yielding a lower monthly cost. Additionally, Mint also offers the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade your plans based on your changing needs.

T-Mobile

3.5 GB Data | $15/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

If you prefer a cell phone plan from a big name carrier, consider T-Mobile‘s offering, which includes 3.5 GB of data, unlimited domestic talk time, and text for just $15 a month. This plan also features an Annual Data Upgrade, providing an additional 500MB of data per month until March 2025. It’s the first T-Mobile wireless plan that automatically increases data allowances every year, up to a maximum of 4.5 GB per month.

If you deplete your 3.5 GB of data before your billing cycle resets, your data speed will be reduced. However, you can still have internet access to emails, WhatsApp, etc.

It’s important to note that this T-Mobile plan does not include free international calls, but you can enhance your plan with unlimited calling and text to Mexico and Canada for an additional $5 per month or by paying an extra $15 to obtain unlimited calling to mobile lines in over 30 countries and landlines in over 70 countries.

If you find that you don’t need data and you’re looking to reduce your phone bill expenses, consider signing up for a cost-effective talk-and-text package.

TextNow Wireless

Free Unlimited Talk & Text

If you don’t need data, we’d recommend TextNow as an ideal option. TextNow offers a free plan that gives you unlimited talk time and text to the USA and Canada, priced at $0. To take advantage of this plan, you can download TextNow’s app and sign up for the service for free – which lets you make free calls and text to others over Wi-Fi. If you’d like to make calls without the need for Wi-Fi, you can get a TextNow SIM card kit for $4.99. This enables you to enjoy unlimited calling and texting over TextNow’s Nationwide Network.

However, as expected, this free plan does not include data, so you won’t be able to access services like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. If you need data, you can upgrade to TextNow’s data plan with 1 GB of high-speed mobile data for $9 per month, while the unlimited data plan starts at $19.99 per month.

Another thing you might want to know is that all your calls and texts will be made from the TextNow app. If you opt for the free plan, you should be aware that ads are displayed in the app, which is how the service can provide free calling and texting. Some users have reported the ad issue and if you would like to remove them, consider upgrading to a paid plan which will either reduce in-app ads or remove them entirely, depending on the plan you select.

H2O Wireless

$5/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

This H2O Wireless no-data plan is also a decent choice for anyone looking for an affordable call-and-text-only plan. It’s an annual plan, so you’ll need to pay a one-time fee of $60 upfront, which allows you to enjoy unlimited talk and text for one year.

After purchasing the plan, you still have the flexibility to add additional add-ons as needed. For instance, you can add high-speed data to your plan cycle, with 2 GB available for $10 or 5 GB for $20. If you need to make international calls, you can purchase a $5 or $10 add-on if you exceed your international talk credit.

US Mobile Kosher Plan

$7.5/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

US Mobile also offers an affordable no-data plan priced at $7.5 per month, including taxes and fees. With this plan, you can enjoy unlimited talk time and texting.

If you require data, you have the option to add data top-ups, although they come at a slightly higher rate: 500 MB for $5, 2 GB for $10, and 6 GB for $20.

Visible

Unlimited Data | $25/ month | Unlimited Talk & Text

OR

50 GB Premium Data | $45/month | Unlimited Talk & Text

Visible operates on Verizon’s renowned network, offering two plans with unlimited talk, text, and data. With both plans, you can also enjoy unlimited calling and texting to Canada and Mexico when you’re in the US, as well as international calling to over 30 countries. However, the Visible+ plan allows you to make up to 500 international minutes of calls per month at no extra cost.

While both plans provide unlimited data, the Visible+ plan offers an impressive 50 GB of premium data. (According to Visible, premium data ensures no data slowdowns due to prioritization.) After utilizing 50 GB of data before your next billing cycle, your data may temporarily slow down during peak traffic times compared to other traffic. Additionally, this plan allows you to use your phone as a hotspot at speeds of up to 5 Mbps, with no data limits on your hotspot usage. This means you can freely stream wherever you are.

Currently, the service is offering a discount to new members of the Visible+ plan. You can use the promo code “35FOR6” to receive a $10 per month discount off the standard Visible+ service cost for the first 6 months of service. After that, standard service costs will apply, starting with the 7th month.

US Mobile

30GB High Speed Data | $25/month

The US Mobile Unlimited Starter plan gives you unlimited talk, text, and 30 GB of high-speed data. After exceeding 30 GB of high-speed data, your data speeds will be reduced to 1Mbps for the rest of the month. The service includes unlimited talk to the US, Canada, and Mexico, as well as unlimited calling to 200+ destinations on their GSM 5G network.

The Unlimited Starter plan also offers 5 GB of hotspot data. If you need more premium data and hotspot data, you can opt for the US Mobile’s Unlimited Essentials plan- priced at $40 per month, which provides you with 50 GB premium data and 10 GB hotspot data. Alternatively, you can choose the Unlimited Premium plan, which costs $50 per month and grants you 100 GB of premium data and 50 GB of hotspot data.

Currently, if you are a new customer to this service and want a new number, US Mobile is offering a 50% discount on the Unlimited Starter plan for the first month. After that, the plan will cost you $25 a month. If you are a new customer and wish to transfer your existing number to this service, you are eligible for a 50-day free trial.

Mint mobile

40GB High Speed Data | $30/month

Another plan we recommend is Mint Mobile‘s $30 plan. This plan includes unlimited talk and text, as well as free calling to Mexico and Canada. It also offers 40 GB of high-speed data. However, after reaching the data cap, data speeds will be reduced. You can also utilize up to 10 GB of your monthly data for mobile hotspots.

Mint is currently running a promotion for new customers, allowing you to try its Unlimited data plan for three months at the price of $15 per month. After three months, you can choose to renew your plan on a three, six, or twelve-month basis, with longer cycles resulting in a lower monthly cost. If the plan doesn’t suit your needs, you have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade your plan later.

Hopefully, this guide has shed light on some of the best, affordable phone plan options to consider. Whether you opt for a limited data plan, a no-data plan, or an unlimited data plan, the best plan is always the one that aligns with your needs. Feel free to share your experiences with these plans or recommend others that we might have missed.

There are so many different kinds of doorbell cameras (also known as video doorbells) with various specs and reviews, that it can be difficult to pick one that suits you amidst a sea of information. Don’t worry, I’ve read over six pages of search results, more than 20 posts on Reddit, and gathered all the valuable information from real customers to write this comprehensive guide to help you find the best choice with reasoning.

Every brand or product generally has good and bad reviews. We only mention the most frequently mentioned ones.

The Ring doorbell is the most well-known video doorbell camera, but Reolink is the most recommended one on Reddit because “It is pretty good for its cost.”

You can find both wired and wireless doorbell cameras from Reolink, and people like it for below reasons:

Plays very nice with third-party NVRsBest video quality
It is pretty good for its cost. Good motion detection
Plays well without internet access.Good app
Local storageRTSP for storage and streaming wherever you want
Works well with Homekit

The Reolink ranks very well among the bunch. The bonus point is that most of the features do not break when you run it locally only. When operating it as local only, Home Assistant can still recognize button presses as triggers and motion detection still works.

Well, we won’t ignore its disadvantages:

Some users complain about its app. “All you get is a lacklustre system notification that you then have to then drag down to click to load the app.” – by Cryptonnaire17.
But according to other users, you can solve this problem by connecting the Reolink doorbell to your home assistant. Set up a doorbell chime announcement to play in the room and it’s very handy.

For Reolink I recommend the REOLINK Video Doorbell PoE Camera for anyone seeking a reliable and robust doorbell camera solution. This innovative device combines the convenience of a video doorbell with the reliability of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. With crystal-clear video quality and a wide field of view, you’ll capture every detail of your visitors and surroundings. The PoE connectivity ensures a stable and uninterrupted power supply, eliminating concerns about battery life or Wi-Fi signal strength. Additionally, the camera boasts advanced motion detection and customizable alerts, keeping you informed about any activity at your doorstep. REOLINK’s commitment to user privacy and data security adds an extra layer of confidence. Elevate your home security with the REOLINK Video Doorbell PoE Camera – a smart choice for those who prioritize both performance and peace of mind.

Amazon: $99.99

Ring doorbell

When someone asks for a recommendation for a reliable smart doorbell camera, Ring Doorbell is always the one that first comes to people’s mind. Ring offers clear video, motion detection, and integration with other smart devices.

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2023 release) is a top-tier doorbell camera. With its Head-to-Toe HD+ Video, this device delivers stunningly clear and comprehensive footage, ensuring you capture every detail. The advanced motion detection and alerts feature provides peace of mind by notifying you of any activity near your front door. Moreover, the Two-Way Talk functionality allows you to communicate with visitors or delivery personnel, enhancing your home’s security and convenience. Ring has consistently impressed with its innovative doorbell cameras, and the Battery Doorbell Plus continues that tradition by offering cutting-edge technology and features to safeguard your home.

Amazon: $179.99

However, the biggest flaw of Ring Doorbell Plus is it has a subscription cost. Think about it and make the final decision.

Arlo video doorbell – the best value for money

If Reolink and Ring doesn’t meet your needs, then maybe Arlo. It’s also not perfect but if you want a “smart” system with nice apps and all that, it’s probably one of the decent ones.

The Arlo Video Doorbell is for those seeking a premium doorbell camera with exceptional features. Arlo is known for its high-quality smart home products, and their Video Doorbell lives up to that reputation. With crisp HD video quality, a wide viewing angle, and HDR, you’ll get a clear and detailed view of your front porch.
The camera’s advanced motion detection and alerts are highly customizable, allowing you to receive notifications for specific zones and activities. Two-way audio communication lets you interact with visitors or delivery personnel from anywhere using the Arlo app. What sets the Arlo Video Doorbell apart is its integration with the Arlo Smart subscription, which offers advanced features like package detection and cloud storage. If you value reliability, exceptional video quality, and a seamless smart home experience, the Arlo Video Doorbell is an excellent choice to enhance your home security and convenience.

From $79.99

Wyze wireless video doorbell pro – Affordable wireless doorbell

Wyze is super cheap and not terrible, and it supports an SD card for offline storage with full HD video. It’s cheap and easy to set up. There are some that don’t have a subscription and are SD card compatible like the Aqara Doorbell but they cost double the Wyze ones.

Compared to Ring Doorbell cameras, Wyze has a much cheaper subscription fee. The Wyze doorbell is probably only about $15 a year, and it works okay with its price.

I recommend Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell Pro for anyone seeking an affordable yet feature-packed doorbell camera solution.

Amazon: $99.98

Wyze has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality smart home products at budget-friendly prices, and its Video Doorbell Pro is no exception. With crisp video quality and a wide field of view, you’ll get a clear view of your doorstep and visitors. The wireless design makes installation a breeze, and you can enjoy the convenience of remote access and two-way communication through the Wyze app. The device also offers customizable motion detection and alerts, ensuring you’re always in the know about activity around your front door. If you’re looking for an excellent balance between performance and affordability in a video doorbell, the Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell Pro is a fantastic choice that won’t break the bank.

Eufy doorbell camera – Best for wired doorbell

Eufy is an affordable doorbell camera with a super easy setup process and no monthly fees. You can use a micro SD card for local storage and don’t have to pay for a subscription. Also, they have a wide range of devices lights doorbells, package drop, and smart locks.

High-quality video.No subscription fee.
Support local storage.Motion detection.

However, Eufy’s has significant flaws that can’t be ignored. Eufy did say there was an issue with the data in the past, so if you have privacy concerns, don’t consider Eufy. Also, some customers reported that Eufy does not play nice with NVR if you want reliability.

For people who don’t mind the data breach, and if you value resolution, motion detection, and virtual assistant integration, then Eufy S330 may be a good option.

Amazon: $199.99

It’s a wired security video doorbell that is without monthly fees. You can store footage locally so it has less chance of being leaked.

Consider what feature you want

It’s the first and most essential step before choosing a doorbell camera. You need to consider various factors to ensure it meets your specific needs and preferences. Consider what you want from your doorbell camera. Here are some factors to think about:

  • Determine your budget
  • Wireless or hardwired
  • Video quality
  • Night vision
  • Motion detection
  • Two-way audio
  • Local storage, cloud storage, or both
  • Smart home support

For safety reasons, I recommend considering doorbell cameras that have the ability to run locally. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches. Also, local storage won’t require monthly or annual subscription fees. What’s more, with a locally run system, you’re less vulnerable to EOL (End Of Life) issues.

Final words

In conclusion, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the “best” doorbell camera, it’s essential to consider your unique needs and priorities when making your choice. So, take your time to research, read reviews, and explore the options available to you. No matter which doorbell camera you choose, it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in enhancing the security, convenience, and peace of mind in your home.

As the internet is part of our daily lives, almost every electronic device relies on Wi-Fi or internet connectivity, and there are thousands of products to choose from. On the other side, there are fewer choices for people who want outdoor security cameras without Wi-Fi. Don’t worry, we see your needs and spend days searching on the internet and selecting the best security cameras without an internet connection or Wi-Fi for you.

Check Your Neighborhood Safety

Enter your address and find out more about your new community.

3 Types of security camera without Wi-Fi

No matter why you need a surveillance camera that doesn’t use an internet connection, you’re certainly away from Google Nest and Ring cameras. They can’t work without Wi-Fi.

  1. Use cellular data cameras
  2. Use POE cameras
  3. Try hidden cameras

We’ve seen some posts suggesting connecting cameras with phone hotspots. However, we don’t think it’s a viable solution for two reasons. First, connecting a security camera to a phone hotspot means the phone has to stay close to the camera all day. Additionally, the phone needs to remain active all day, which seems unrealistic. Second, unless the phone has unlimited data usage, the cost could be significant.

1. Use cellular data cameras

4G cellular data usage security cameras are a great option when you’re off-grid. You can take it anywhere you, the product flexibility and ease of use are the reasons to recommend it.

  1. Arlo Go
  2. Reolink Go

The Arlo Go is a 4G LTE-powered security camera that doesn’t rely on Wi-Fi for connectivity. It operates independently, making it an excellent choice for remote locations or areas with unreliable Wi-Fi.

We highly recommend it because it’s easy to set up without wire so you can mount it wherever you are. Its integrated spotlight and color night vision let you see more at night. You’re allowed to store and review videos with a microSD card. What’s more, it offers HD video quality.

ProsCons
Cellular connectivity via 4G LTE.Requires a cellular data plan.
HD video and night vision.Higher upfront costs.
Wire-free installation.MicroSD cards are sold separately.
Waterproof.

Reolink Go

Reolink Go is one of the best options that we recommend. The Reolink Go allows you to insert a SIM card into it and that can provide a network by itself. Then you can enjoy peace of mind in any place with no WiFi, or even no power. All the features you may need for home security are available, including real-time alerts, push notifications, remote live viewing, and onsite motion recording.

Because of its solar-powered battery, you can lower the frequency of charging the battery.

ProsCons
Cellular connectivity via 4G LTE.Requires a cellular data plan.
2K 4MP Super HD and night vision.Data isn’t unlimited.
Wireless Solar-Powered
Come with a 32GB SD card & free 7-day Cloud service

2. Use POE cameras

Power over Ethernet (POE) cameras have a stable power source and enhanced security because they can’t be hacked through Wi-Fi. They do require an initial investment of time for installation, but they should fulfill your needs.

IP camera

Among PoE cameras, we recommend you choose an Internet Protocol (IP) camera. It is a digital video camera that can transmit and receive data over a network or the internet to a network storage device or store onboard the camera. An IP camera retains the functions of traditional analog cameras and adds networking functions to this basis, making them more flexible and versatile.

Usually, IP cameras are paired with NVR, and for users who have a big property, the NVR security camera system would be a great option.

But IP cameras can still work independently without NVRs, just like the security cameras with SD cards. You can connect an IP camera with a wired network via an ethernet cable to a computer, laptop, TV, or even your phone.

Reolink smart IP camera supports 24/7 continuous, smart human/vehicle detection, and scheduled recordings. All the videos can be saved to the microSD card, Reolink network video recorder, (NVR), or FTP server. You can choose a way you like to store and view videos.

ProsCons
HD video and night vision.MicroSD cards are not included.
Smart human/vehicle detection.Power supply is not included. To operate it, you’ll need either a POE NVR host or a 12V power adapter.
Easy setup.
According to Amazon reviews, the POE IP camera is good with the proper big POE router to control but doesn’t work nicely for a single camera setup.

NVR kit

The NVR kit is a security camera system that can record 24/7 but doesn’t rely on Wi-Fi. It is combined with 3 things: IP cameras, ethernet cable, and NVR.

NVR stands for Network video recorder. The NVR is a video storage device that is paired with IP cameras to create a video surveillance system. According to your needs, the NVR camera system can be a small one or a big one that connects thousands of IP cameras.

Without the Wi-Fi function, you give up features on mobile apps and push notifications, but you can set the NVR to beep when motion is detected.

You can choose the size and channel of NVR according to your needs. Usually, an 8-channel NVR kit is good to go.

Reolink NVR kits support local live viewing, beep alerts, motion recording, scheduled recording, or 24/7 recording, with no network or WiFi. It includes a 4K 8CH NVR with 2TB storage and, 4pcs wired IP cameras. This system provides high-resolution video and can store footage locally on the NVR.
If you want to check out what’s happening out there, just connect your NVR to a monitor, and then you can see the live feeds of all channels right on your TV screen. And with the built-in HHD in the NVR, you can save all the recordings locally.

ProsCons
No internet connection is needed.Requires an NVR.
High-resolution video.Limited remote monitoring options without internet.
Expandable camera system.
Local storage on NVR.

3. Try hidden cameras

When you search “no Wi-Fi security camera” on Amazon, you’ll see 4G cellular cameras, security system cameras, and hidden spy cameras. They don’t support Wi-Fi, and they are easy to use: simply insert a micro SD card to record the video and you’re good to go.

Take EDIACE HD 1080p Body Camera as an example, it features motion detection. It will record a video when people or animals move close to it. When they stop moving, the camera will enter into standby (60-day standby time) and power-saving mode.

That’s all about security cameras without Wi-Fi. You can compare these types of cameras and find the one that meets your needs.

Put camera signs/security signs

There are different opinions on whether adding signs deters bad guys. Discussions on Reddit show different results. A user said a family put up a sign and hasn’t had a trespasser since. And there is a user who said they won’t stop the thief. They still come to check the car doors to steal things and try to break into the building.

Conclusion

While Wi-Fi security cameras are prevalent today, there are still viable options for those looking to secure their spaces without internet connectivity. The best security cameras without Wi-Fi cater to various needs, from traditional analog cameras to 4G LTE-powered devices and complete NVR systems. Your choice ultimately depends on your specific requirements, whether it’s remote monitoring capabilities, video quality, or budget constraints. Prioritize your security needs, and you can find a suitable non-Wi-Fi security camera that ensures your peace of mind.

FAQ:

Is it legit to take surveys for money?

Online paid surveys are legitimate businesses. Companies and organizations look for honest feedback and thoughts from consumers about their brands, services, and products, so they partner with market research companies as mentioned above to tap into their audience. Simply put, companies pay for helpful insights, and you, as consumers, earn money by voicing your opinions. And survey websites (known as get-paid-to websites) connect both of you.

Typically it’s free to take surveys for money. So if a website is asking you to pay upfront costs in order to earn money, it’s very likely a scam. To protect your personal information online, avoid websites if they:

  • Pay too much. Things that sound too good to be true are often fake.
  • The website isn’t secure. A secure and reliable website should at least have a padlock icon next to the URL, which means it’s safe with a digital certificate and the information you send will be kept securely.
  • Ask for sensitive personal information. Never give away your social security number, bank account, driver’s license, or anything you think is important.
  • Requires a large number of points to pay out. Most survey websites offer points valued at 1 cent and let you cash out at $5 – $15. Don’t waste time on websites that have high disqualification rates or strict payout terms.

Are paid surveys available for everyone?

Short answer: No. Most survey websites require people at least 14 years old to join, and some are open to certain countries or regions.

But compared to other side gigs, paid surveys are suitable for the vast majority of individuals, stay-at-home parents, busy college students, or anyone in between. There are no startup fees or skill or career requirements. All you need is a device, e.g. tablet, computer, or smartphone with an Internet connection to access the survey websites

How much can you earn by taking surveys?

Doing surveys online won’t make you rich overnight, but it can provide a great boost to your financial life, such as helping you cut down on the bills or earning a free cup of coffee. It’s perfect for people who don’t mind filling out some surveys in their spare time to earn extra cash. The surveys have different payouts, depending on their types or estimated time to finish.

How to get paid?

Most legitimate websites offer various redemption options. Once you’ve accumulated enough points by taking surveys, you can redeem them for cash, usually via PayPal or Visa credits, e-gift cards to popular retailers, or charitable donations

The payout process usually will take a few business days, usually 1 – 7 days. Here is how long the payment of the survey websites above will process:

Branded Surveys: 1 – 2 business days
Survey Junkie: Instantly
Toluna: It varies. Points for some surveys may be credited within a few days or a maximum of six weeks.
Swagbucks: 1 – 10 days
Ipsos iSay: Virtual rewards are delivered instantly; PayPal cash takes up to 3 – 4 days to be received.
LifePoints: Up to 10 days
InboxDollars: About 3 business days
MyPoints: Up to 30 business days
Opinion Outpost: Up to 6 weeks

Large and active membership base

High-quality dating pool

Detailed member profiles

Patented Compatibility Matching System

Weekend free communication

Cons

Lengthy signup process

Lacks search feature

Not ideal for casual daters

Tired of playing the field and ready to find love that lasts? If you’re seeking a meaningful relationship leading to commitment or marriage, then eharmony should be at the top of your list.

Operating since 2000, eharmony is a relationship-focused dating app and site that celebrates an 80% success rate in matchmaking. Behind this track record is their patented Compatibility Matching System – the secret sauce that reveals the real you and what you seek in a partner. It allows eharmony to match based on emotional temperament, social style, and shared values – not just bathroom selfies.

While the 80-question quiz may seem like a daunting task at first, it could help filter out half-hearted daters who are just looking for a casual swipe in the process. 2. Zoosk

Pros

Smart Behavioral Matchmaking

Large active user base

Caters to all dating goals – casual, serious relationships, and hookups

Photo verification

Cons

Incomplete/fake profiles

No refunds offered

As a modern dating platform, Zoosk believes in the philosophy that finding love should feel more like a game. To make this possible, the site uses behavioral matchmaking technology. Specifically, it observes your activity on the app to determine your preferences and suggest matches it thinks will suit your style.

With a user base spanning 40 million singles across 80 countries, Zoosk offers a lively community catering to all dating styles and goals. Whether you seek lighthearted flirting, a long-term meaningful relationship, or even a fancy situationship – Zoosk may have something just for you.

No dating site is perfect. And over the years, Zoosk has dealt with some incomplete and fake profiles – we know it’s frustrating weeding through sketchy or barebone profiles. But here’s the good news: Zoosk implemented photo verification to address this. While not foolproof, it adds a layer of security by having members verify through recorded videos. So those green checkmarks help ease concerns and let you focus on legitimate matches. Don’t let a few bad apples get in the way of you scoring your ideal date!

3. Bumble

Pros

Empowers women to make the first move

Time limits prevent ghosting

Quality over quantity approach

Plenty of free features

Handy ‘Incognito’ mode

Cons

Smaller user pool

Less control for men

If you want an app where women are in charge, Bumble is likely to be your cup of tea. Hailed as the feminist dating app, Bumble puts the ladies in the driver’s seat by requiring them to initiate conversations after matching. This feature cuts down on unwanted advances from men.

Bumble also encourages engaging connections through time limits – matches expire after 24 hours if no message is sent, so ghosting is harder. For women seeking quality partners over casual swipes, this is a perk. Plus, Bumble offers handy privacy features like Incognito Mode to take the stress out of online dating.

Despite its many virtues, Bumble is not without its limitations. While Bumble is gaining popularity, its user pool is still on the smaller side. As a result, you may come across the same profiles circulating through your feed, especially in less populated areas. In addition, some men may not like the lack of control over initiating conversations. But if you embrace female empowerment and quality over quantity, Bumble could help you find fulfilling relationships on your terms.

4. Coffee Meets Bagel

Pros

Curated matches daily

In-depth profiles

Focuses on quality connections

Able to chat with matches without upgrading

Cons

Limited daily matches

Few search options

Coffee Meets Bagle (CMB) is a dating platform with a breakfast-themed name. But don’t let the cheekiness fool you – CMB actually brings a warm, relationship-focused vibe for singles looking to make lasting relationships.

CMB prides itself on quality over quantity matches. Each day at noon, you’ll receive a select number of matches called “Bagels.” These Bagels are handpicked based on your preferences, so you get tailored suggestions from promising partners. Diving beyond just photos, CMB profiles provide insights into Bagels’ interests, values, and goals. This allows you to make more meaningful connections based on compatibility, not just physical attraction.

While some may appreciate CMB’s curated approach, others may feel too restricted by the limited daily Bagels. In addition, if you are a restless hunter who likes keeping your options open, CMB may disappoint.

5. OkCupid

Pros

Robust profiles and matching questions

Free version available

Large and diverse user base

LGBTQ+ inclusive

Cons

Limited features without a paid membership

Dated user interface

OkCupid sets itself apart with a vibrant, progressive approach to dating for all orientations and relationship styles. Known for its witty ads and embracing inclusivity, OkCupid attracts an eclectic community seeking something real – be it casual or committed.

OkCupid’s in-depth profile and match questions allow you to get to know potential dates beyond just pics. You can highlight what matters to you, from social issues to hobbies, and find someone truly compatible. While the site’s look and functionality could use some polish, OkCupid delivers where it counts – bringing together an adventurous, diverse crowd.

Another common critique OkCupid receives is its paywalled messaging, as can be expected on most freemium platforms yet still frustrating. As a free user, you can’t access incoming messages, nor can you see if your messages have been read or scroll back in the conversation history, which could be irksome to some. Our advice is to start by dipping your toes into the water, and if you decide that it’s the right fit for you, you may then upgrade to its premium membership for seamless, unlimited communication.

6. SilverSingles

Pros

Tailored to over 50 demographic

In-depth personality assessment

High number of relationship-minded users

Cons

Lengthy sign-up process

No manual searching

If you’re an older single tired of getting lost in the sea of hot mess hookup apps, SilverSingles offers a tailored platform. The site requires new users to complete an in-depth personality test, ensuring matches are based on more than just age. Most SilverSingles users are relationship-minded, so you can avoid constantly stumbling upon flippant hookup seekers.

As you get on to SilverSingles, you may quickly notice that the site does not offer a manual search feature in the traditional sense that some other dating platforms do. Instead, it primarily relies on its matching algorithm to present you with potential partners based on your personality assessment and preferences. This is SilverSingle’s way of showing confidence in helping you pick your matches.

This can be limiting – if you’re a dater who prefers more control over customizing your search criteria. But it could be freeing if you trust SilverSingles to take the wheel in finding compatible matches. By leaning on its algorithm, SilverSingles aims to introduce you to partners you may not have encountered on your own, but who have traits that align with your quiz answers.

7. Seeking

Pros

Caters to wealthy, successful, or attractive members

Mutually beneficial relationships

Clear intentions

Strict verification process

Advanced search filters

Cons

Controversial “sugar” relationships

High membership costs for men

Limited potential for long-term commitment

Safety concerns

Seeking, formerly SeekingArrangement, provides an exclusive space for those seeking mutually beneficial arrangements outside conventional dating norms.

One of Seeking’s biggest draws is its emphasis on candidness. Here, you don’t have to beat around the bush – you can be upfront about your desires, whether you’re looking to connect as a sugar baby seeking financial support, companionship, or mentorship, or as a sugar daddy or mommy offering it. This transparency can save time and root out misunderstandings. Seeking also provides profile verification and advanced filters – so that you can feel secure in pursuing your goals.

However, it’s important to recognize that Seeking is often associated with “sugar” relationships, which can be a controversial topic. While this is the platform’s niche, it raises moral dilemmas for some and may restrict prospects for lasting commitment – so it certainly isn’t for everyone, and it’s crucial to consider your personal comfort levels before committing.

8. AdultFriendFinder

Pros

Free signup

Tons of sexy strangers

Niche online communities for various kinks/fetishes

80M+ active users

Ideal for no-strings-attached hookups and casual encounters

Cons

Overwhelming amount of explicit content and messaging

Large number of inactive accounts

Male-heavy gender ratio

If you’re looking for some casual adult fun, AdultFriendFinder (AFF) is likely your best bet. Dubbed “the world’s largest sex and swinger site”, AFF boasts over 80 million members worldwide looking to hook up, get down, and get off.

At its core, AFF is an adults-only playground for those embracing their sexually adventurous side. As you log onto the site, expect to be welcomed with a screen overflowing with racy photos, videos, and live streams. And it’s not just virtual – AFF is also a thriving community to arrange passionate, real-world encounters.

However, it’s important to have realistic expectations. While AFF promises steamy connections, it has been called out for having its fair share of inactive or fake profiles. So as you venture into the wild world of AFF, exercise some caution – some users complain of encountering fake profiles that are predators phishing for personal information. But ultimately, if you know what you want and aren’t easily offended, AdultFriendFinder can yield some hot steamy flings with no attachments.

9. Ashley Madison

Pros

Discreet way to have an affair (if ethical)

Completely free for women to use

Balanced men-to-women ratio

Strong emphasis on privacy and discretion

Cons

Promotes unethical nonmonogamy

Previous data breach privacy concerns

If monogamy has lost its magic and you seek romantic adventures outside your marriage, Ashley Madison presents itself as a non-judgmental solution.

As a discreet dating platform, AM offers an array of clever features to keep your dating life hush-hush. You can get creative with blurring or modifying profile photos to obscure your appearance. Maybe enable sneaky notification settings so messages stay secret, like configuring discreet names masked innocently as the app updates. Or, go incognito by changing the actual app logo itself to appear as harmless as a calculator.

However, it’s important to weigh the moral implications before joining Ashley Madison. Will you feel guilty or remorse? If discretion is needed, is your marriage already failing in a way that cannot be repaired through open communication and counseling? Not to judge, but these are some crucial questions to deeply reflect upon in your current relationship before turning to an affair.

Try for Free

10. HER

Pros

Designed for queer women and nonbinary users

Build community through forums and events

Encourages sharing personalities and interests in profiles

Focuses on commonalities beyond physical appearance

More in-depth profiles

Cons

Smaller user pool than mainstream apps

Complaints about bugs and glitches

Limited membership outside major cities

Imperfect vetting system

If you’re a lesbian, bisexual, or queer woman seeking love online, the app HER – as its name implies – aims to connect you with like-minded individuals. Boasting over 5 million users across the spectrum of sexualities, HER is the largest women-focused LGBTQ dating app.

What makes HER unique is its focus on community. The app fosters in-person events and friend connections between queer women across the globe. It also encourages users to showcase their true selves through in-depth profiles highlighting passions, quirks, and personality.

While primarily for dating, many also use HER to expand their social circle and connect platonically within the LGBTQ community. The app welcomes those seeking any type of bond with queer women – be it friendships, relationships, or more.

That said, HER does have some drawbacks reported by users. Some users complain of a high number of inactive accounts and men sporadically attempting to slide into the conversations. The free version also restricts access to certain features. But despite its flaws, HER remains a one-of-a-kind space for LGBTQ women to authentically connect.

Try For Free

11. Grindr

Pros

Largest gay dating app with a big user base

Location-based matching in real-time

Quick & easy setup

LGBTQ+ friendly

Cons

Focus on physical appearance

Privacy/safety concerns

Hookup culture

Originally launched in 2009, Grindr was the first geosocial app focused on same-sex matchmaking. It boasts a whopping 4 million daily users, making it the go-to app for gay singles looking to flirt, date, and hook up.

By leveraging your device’s location services, Grindr can match you with men based on proximity. This makes it ideal if you want discreet meets and spontaneous flings while on the go. While it’s primarily used for casual fun, you can also form friendships and relationships on Grindr. The app provides helpful privacy features like expiring photos and incognito browsing to enable a discrete dating experience for you.

One thing to note – Grindr faced criticism for a data breach in 2018 that leaked users’ location data. However, they’ve since strengthened security protections, so it likely wouldn’t be a major concern for you today if using the app.

If you’re curious about your ethnic origins or want to connect with unknown relatives, chances are you’ve come across the AncestryDNA Kit during your exploration.

With the most extensive family-matching database available, AncestryDNA offers one of the premier at-home DNA testing kits on the market. In this article, we’ll delve into the AncestryDNA kit, exploring its usage, benefits, and the insights they can reveal about your ancestry. Let’s dive in.

Family Ancestry

$79 $49

Learn about your personal history and follow the path of your ancestors with FamilyTreeDNA’s industry-leading tests

Should I Get Ancestry DNA Test

The decision to choose AncestryDNA or another DNA testing service depends on what information you want to find out and your budget.

For genealogical purposes, AncestryDNA, FamilyTree DNA, 23andMe and MyHeritage are well-known and reliable companies to start with. If you live in North America, we’d recommend AncestryDNA due to its vast user base in the US and Canada, offering a higher chance of finding potential matches.

For those of Jewish descent or residing outside North America, 23andMe might be a more suitable option. If you’re European, then MyHeritage might offer better results since it has more European testers in their database.

If you’re a serious genealogist and you want a more detailed exploration of the past, FamilyTree DNA offers a comprehensive approach. It provides in-depth Y-DNA and mtDNA kits as well as the normal autosomal tests, while AncestryDNA is limited to autosomal analysis and can’t independently trace maternal and paternal heritage.

Additionally, you might also want to compare the cost of major DNA test kits services. Basic ancestry tests, including the AncestryDNA kit, are usually priced around $100. If affordability is a priority for you, consider the MyHeritage DNA kit, which typically costs $89 but can drop to as low as $39 during sales.

How to Choose Ancestry DNA Kit

AncestryDNA offers three distinct package options catering for different needs. These packages can be conveniently ordered from the Ancestry website or app, compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

  • The basic AncestryDNA package ($99): Offers Origins & Ethnicity reports and DNA Matches.
  • The AncestryDNA + Family Tree Package ($100): Includes Origins + Ethnicity reports, DNA Matches, and a World Explorer membership, granting access to all U.S. and international records on Ancestry.
  • The AncestryDNA Traits +All Access Package ($199): Provides Origins + Ethnicity reports, DNA Matches, reports on over 40 genetic traits, and a 3-month membership for accessing all Ancestry records.

The AncestryDNA + Family Tree Package should be sufficient for anyone wanting to research your ancestry and build your family tree.

If you want to learn some fun information on what your DNA says about you, you can opt for the third package and get the add-on AncestryDNA Traits feature. This tests 42 traits, including alcohol flush, birth weight, caffeine consumption, cleft chin, muscle fatigue, and more.

How to Use Ancestry DNA Kit

The process for using the AncestryDNA test kit is quite straightforward. Upon receiving your AncestryDNA kit, the first thing you have to do is activate your DNA kit on the AncestryDNA website. You’ll need to create an account or associate the kit with the account of a family member or friend. Then enter the 15-digit activation code from the collection tube to link your test results to the account.

Collect your saliva sample by spitting it into the tube until it reaches the marked line. Note that the most important thing to remember is that you should not eat or drink for 30 minutes before you take the test.

Once you’ve collected the sample, close the lid and it will release a stabilizing liquid. Make sure you shake the tube for a few seconds before sending it back to AncestryDNA. AncestryDNA provides a prepaid return mailer so you can ship your sample to the testing lab at no additional cost.

The final part is to submit your sample and wait for your results to be available online. Most sample processing takes six to 8 weeks.

What to Expect from Your Ancestry DNA Test Results

Once the test is complete, Ancestry DNA will provide you with a thorough report. This report will present an overview of your ethnicity estimates, as well as potential relatives who have also taken the DNA test through the company.

Ethnicity Estimate

AncestryDNA’s core focus is your ancestry. The detailed ethnicity report, presented in a pie chart, estimates the portion of your DNA associated with different geographical regions. This allows you to unveil your ancestral origins and track their migration paths.

AncestryDNA Matches

AncestryDNA will compare your DNA with their extensive database. It will identify users with similar genetic profiles along with an estimate of how closely you may be related.

With the largest user database among DNA companies, AncestryDNA provides access to millions of records, making it an ideal choice for those wanting to discover unknown relatives or biological parents.

Ancestry Family Tree

You can start building your family tree with AncestryDNA with its super easy to use interface. You can view the usernames and profile photos of your potential matches for free.

If you wish to access their contact information, family trees, and AncestryDNA’s database of historical records, you’ll need to purchase a membership, which costs around $25 a month. This allows you to sift through your matches and their family trees to build yours.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to learn something about your genealogy and you live in North America, Ancestry is the best place to start because of their large database. The service has the largest database available hence can increase your odds of finding possible matches.

Last but not least, be prepared for potential surprises before doing the test. There are many cases about people discover hidden adoptions or secret half-siblings. While these are not quite common, they do happen.
